Best Father's Day Gift Ever!

My wife got me the Vikings Blade razor as a Father's Day gift yesterday. I know it may seem too early to write a review but I just can't help it. I have one of the coarsest hairs I've ever seen. Shaving is usually an unbearable experience for me; I had to keep a beard at one time. The only way I get to shave with ease is through wet shaving. Anyhow, I decided to test out my new gift last night and it was super amazing. I shaved about 2 days back and was supposed to shave again this morning.

Just testing it out, I ran the blade through my cheeks and out went the hair in one glide! Did I just say it was dry shaving I attempted? Can't even remember the last time I had a shave without some form of lubrication. Although my cheeks were mildly red, shaved area was smooth as it could possibly be. I had to run out of the bathroom to show my wife. Vikings Blade is simply one heck of a product, I'm telling all my friends about it!

Vikings Blade vs Weishi 9306

These two products are names to reckon with when it comes to double edge razors. For people that don't mind changing razors, the Vikings Blade will seem more familiar than to people who stick to brands. Weishi is almost a household name as they have got fantastic lines of products. Unlike the Weishi, the Vikings Blade is the only double edge razor for the company for now. Let's see how well both razors compare to one another.

Design

The Vikings Blade is a perfect blend of brass and bronze for high quality strength. The product is then coated with chrome plating that gives it a shining look. The Vikings Blade is known for its advanced butterfly head. The head allows for quick and easy change of blades. The head also comes with a micro-comb that sits to prevent accidental cuts while shaving.

The Weishi 9306 belongs to a line of razors with different models. The razor is constructed with heavy copper alloy. This makes it look like those other expensive razors. This particular product is a classic handle and a heavyweight razor.

Accessories

The Vikings Blade comes with a travel case and 5 extra blades. These extra blades are super sharp and unbranded. The travel case also has a mirror attached to it. The Weishi 9306 also comes with a travel case that's blue in color. The travel case also has a mirror in it. The product comes with 5 DORCO blades and an additional 5 super Yingjili blades.

Unique Feature

The Vikings Blade comes with the new advanced butterfly head. This new butterfly head comes with a micro-comb feature which prevents cuts while shaving. With this the blades are closer together and can guarantee smoother and more even shave. The Weishi 9306 is a Twist to open butterfly style razor. This means you still get to twist the handle at the bottom but it exposes the blade with the butterfly head.

Vikings Blade Wins Best Grooming Razor under $100

There was a time when quality razors were simply expensive. At the time, many men had to do with what they had. In today's world of double edge razors, affordability is now considered an option. The yearly Best Grooming Razor Award has come and gone. As always, there were several brands displaying their best products. The award seeks to know the best razor in the market by allowing users to vote.

There are several categories but one that captivates the audience is usually the award for the Best Grooming Razor under $100. In this category, there are big names, small names, and newcomers. After a rigorous compilation of votes, the award owners made public the names of the recipients of the awards. The Vikings Blade beat the Merkur to emerge as the best grooming razor for the year. A closer look at the ratings of the product will give a clear understanding as to why users voted for it.

The product has received tremendous success since its launch. Unlike most of the others in the competition, the Vikings Blade seems to be the only leading product for the company. It is uncertain if the company would be launching a new product this year or if it would want to expand into making its own shaving accessories.

Parker 96R - Long Handle Open Double Edge Safety Razor Review- Looks better in the picture, but works well.

This is a good razor, I think. My other experience is with $10 Weishi razors, and I do feel this Parker is superior to those, just not $20 superior.

It has some issues. One is the stupid metal collar/bezel right below the head. It rattles (hopefully it will get clogged up with soap and stop doing that). Also, it is not clear why it is even there (what is it even covering up?). It appears to be made of painted steel, and clashes with the anodized aluminum handles and chromed brass the rest of the razor presents.

Mechanical action is fine but no smoother than my $10 weishi razors. Perhaps it is more durable, but it feels no better or worse.

Shave is a tad closer, more aggressive. Also, this razor has some heft, so it feels more manly and stuff. If this matters to you, consider this for your first DE razor vs the lighter and smaller Weishi.

For $30, I'd hoped for a better razor. While this is a fine deal for a tool which will last for years, it's not gift-worthy, which is another reason I was trying out this model. It's a Timex dressed up as a Rolex; it works fine but looks like a cheap imitation of something else. Give me this same razor without the rattly decorations so I can give a few away without embarrassment. The big "INDIA" cast into the bottom of the head looks cheezy, too.

The Vikings Blade Butterfly Razor vs Ambroley Butterfly Razor

In comparison to some other top brands, the Vikings Blade is a relatively new product. The product is built with all the finesse and superiority of any known double edge razor known to man. The product is made in Australia with its materials sourced from Germany and Sweden. The product has got its characteristic butterfly head which uniquely houses a micro-comb feature that helps to eliminate cuts while shaving.

The Ambroley is a much recent brand that just joined the top guns in the industry. The product is built in India and has its shaving prowess slightly aggressive. It also gives a clean, smooth shave because of the closeness of the blades to the skin.

Design

The Vikings Blade comes with a beautiful chrome plated design. It has a butterfly head that allows for easy changing of blades in as quick a time as 5 seconds. The Ambroley is a wet shaver that also comes with a chrome plated design. The product also has a butterfly head which functions the same way as the Vikings Blade.

Dimensions

The Vikings Blade comes with a length of 3.75" and a weight of 85g. This allows for a firm grip of the razor and makes it a heavyweight shaver. The Ambroley comes with a length of 4" and has a weight of about 45g. This puts the razor as a fairly lightweight razor.

Accessories

The Vikings Blade comes with 5 ultra-sharp unbranded blades. It also comes with a travel case that has a mirror in it. The Ambroley also comes with 5 premium quality blades.

Conclusion

While both products seem to share several similarities, the Vikings Blade is a better double edge razor because it is hefty. This allows for a firmer grip and it gives additional strength to the razor when in use.

Vikings Blade safety razor

Bought the Vikings Blade and have been in love with it ever since. I don't know much about the technical stuffs so please do bear with me as I review the product the way I experience it. First, if you haven't bought the Vikings Blade, you need to before it stops being inexpensive. I looked through most of the reviews but I discovered most people were not talking about the price.

For a product that offers same quality and sometimes more of what other brands offer for over $100, this to me is the greatest feature. Maybe to you the cost may not be an issue but I literarily shave every day of my life. If I have to save even as little as a dollar every day, it would count for something. Buying the extra blades (minus the free 5 blades it comes with) is cheap and very affordable. At a time I was considering keeping a beard just to save up some cash. Before you judge me, I am a student and every extra cash counts.

Like I said before, the product is great and gives clean shaves. You don't even have to worry about cuts as I haven't experienced such since I started using the product. The product actually looks too good to be true at that price but it is what everything said and more.

Check out the product on Amazon or Website.

The Vikings Blade Could Just Be the Next Best Thing

Usually when I want to purchase a product online, I spend hours going through the reviews - the Vikings Blade was no exception. I do this because I know there are many paid reviews out there these days but a closer look will always reveal the perceived quality of the product by real users. I decided I was going to wait till about 1 year before I do a review of my Vikings Blade. It's almost 10 months now and I feel this blade is deserving of an early review.

The first thing I love about the Vikings blade is how less aggressive the blades are when in use. I had an Edwin Jagger that although gave lovely cuts, I had to battle to be careful not to injure myself because of how aggressive the blades were. After all these months, the razor is still as effective as it was from the beginning.

The only issue I had was with the additional 5 blades attached to it. They just didn't meet up to the standard I wanted. So I purchased extra blade (which were cheap) and I haven't had any issue with it. The Vikings Blade is heavyweight which gives it a great amount of strength to allow for handling and close shaving. While I wait to see if it beats my 1 year mark, I have to say that so far so good, I like the product.

I Love the Vikings Blade But...

So I go through a reasonable amount of reviews on amazon and I see positive, 5 star reviews every single time. This is good promotion for any product and I don't think I have seen such before. My journey with the Vikings Blade started when I finally decided to buy the product against my judgment.

The Vikings Blade comes with an amazing design. Even if one doesn't know much about construction materials, just holding the Vikings Blade tells it was made from some quality material. Next thing I noticed was the handle. From reviews I read, it is about 3.75" in length. Luckily for me, the length was just right for me. It allows me bring the head closer to my face.

Don't know about other people but I am not a fan of the 5 extra blades it came along with. They just didn't do it for me as I wanted. So I had to purchase extra blades but luckily for me, they didn't cost much. I was amazed how easily they fit into the head and still made a great shave. Apart from the extra blades, I don't think I have anything against the product.
